I have a MRC 1300 powerpack and I was wondering,my layout will have 5 remote switches. Do I wire into a switch machine and wire the switch machine into the transformer? Please Help
Thanks, 1Train

Hi Tom.You need a switch controller between powerpack and switchmachine. Here is what to do if you use solenoid type (like atlas or Peco),not slow motor type like Tortise.I use Atlas switch controllers they are double pole single throw momentary contact, most hobby shops have them. The powerpack should have 4 outlet screws,2 for track(DC) and 2 for accessories (AC).AC is for switches.Run a pair of wires from the AC accessory screws to terminals on left side of Atlas switch controller. At top of Controller are 3 terminals.use color coded wire run 3 wires from switch controller to switch machine.Be careful to be sure the middle wire at controller goes to middle terminal of switch machine. With power on,try out the lever on switch controller. When you slide lever left or right and push down MOMENTARILY the switch should change.More controllers fit into 2 terminals on right side of controller. You will get a lot more responses (and better) if you try the Atlas forum.Have fun.
