Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Good Afternoon! I took a nap after lunch and just woke up, only to find the world covered under a blanket of snow. It´s still coming down, but I don´t mind, as we are stocked up with groceries to last quite some time! December 7th, 1941 - a day that changed the world. Churchill finally got the US into the war in Europe and let the American airmen take over the dreaded day raids, which "Bomber" Harris had chickened out, due to the heavy toll the Luftwaffe took of the RAF as long as they still had gas. I am not going on an inch further, as my people had been on the receiving end of those raids. My MIL, who endured them as a little child, still has occasional nightmares. She was 6 years old when her house in Essen got hit. It took rescuers three days to dig her out! My FIL was shot at by a pilot of a P-38 when he ran for cover. He was severely wounded and was left to die. He was not even 11 years old then. It is a miracle he survived. What a world this is, in which war is waged against children? Enough said! In all of mankind´s history, never a war has been won. This is the season to remember!
