<p>December 7th does not only mark the day that will live in infamy, but also the 182nd anniversary of the opening of the first railway line in Germany. Oddly enough, the line between Nuremberg and Fuerth never became part of the growing network of railroad lines in later years, but was amalgamated into the Nuremberg trolley system at the turn of the century.</p> <p>December 7th, 2017 is also my dad´s 91st birthday. He passed away 4 1/2 years ago.</p>
