But then again it was called the lost Legion so maybe it was only one?[/quote] Ken - you are quite right, it was three legions under the command of Publius Quinctilius Varus, which met theit fate by the German hordes in "Battle of the Teutoburg Forest" 2,008 years ago. The battle site is about a two hours drive away from where I live, but I have not been there once. There is a museum with loads of artifacts, a replika of Roman barracks and lots of other interesting things to see and learn. It took the Romans nearly 2,000 years to finally conquer all of Germany, but this time they used the much more powerful weapons we know as "pizza", "spaghetti" and "lasagna". Have a good one, y´all!
