Good Morning!

Another grey and wet day, but predictions for next week look promising. We have another election coming up on Sunday, this time being state elections.

We are leaving Zermatt on an early train to Brig again. We will change trains there and head to the Swiss capital of Berne via the old Loetschberg route. Following the opening of the new Loetschberg base tunnel, this route has been deprived of nearly all traffic with only a few local trains remaining. It is a beautiful route, offering many a spectacular view. If you chose a seat on the left side of the train, you may catch a glimpse of the Matterhorn as well as thze Mont Blanc, the highest European mountain! We will also pass over the famous Bietschtal viaduct, the Faller model of which having found a home on many a US-themed layout!

Today, we also have a bonus program, showing a 1913 film of the inaugurational train.

We will arrive in Berne in time for lunch and I recommend to have that in one of the cosy "tea rooms", which remind us of the first to discover the charme of Switzerland being the British.

Following lunch, we will take a nostalgic streetcar tour of Berne!

Enjoy!
I got elected as the Vice President of the Barrie Allandale Railroad Modellers on Tuesday night
Congratulation on the new "job", Dave!
