Good Morning! I woke up way too early this morning, but couldn´t get back to sleeping. I´ll try a mid-day nap to catch up. Well, we made our way to the beautiful town of Montreux at Lake Geneva. After a stroll through the vieux ville, we head for the train station to catch an eastward train to Aigle, just a few miles down the banks of Lake Geneva. Although a rather small town,  Aigle is a hotspot for train lovers, as three different narrow gauge lines originate here - the AOMC, the AL and the ASD. The Swiss name their lines after the places the lines connect - unless they are merged to form networks. So, AOMC stands for Aigle - Ollon - Monthey - Champery Railway, connecting Aigle with the French ski resort town of Champery, AL stands for Aigle - Leysin Railway and ASD for Aigle - Sepey - Les Diablerets Railway. All three are now operated by the tpc group "Transport Publics du Chablais".  In 1961, my family spent the holidays in Leysin, but I have only very faint memories of the AL trains.
