That is very sad news.

He will need to be added to the RIP track.  I don't know how to do that.

Could you check to see if Kevin seeyou190 still has access and can do that?

If he has totally divorced himself from here, maybe he would be kind enough to explain it to you if you would be willing to give it a try.

Thanks

I will sure miss Dave. He was very helpful to me, as I'm sure he was to you all. Here's hoping nothing but green signals on his final trip.

While it's bad news regarding  Dave, I suspect that it's  a blessing in disguise for Dianne and his family. He will be missed.

Maxman, it's not my favorite Forum activity, but I've been updating the RIP Track since Kevin's departure   so you can rest assured that I will include Dave..

My condolences to Dianne, family  and friends.

Kind regards, Craig the Bear.

Thanks again.  Not sure I like the "four immediate openings, no waiting" part.

Thanks, Bear.  My ability to post here is limited to a tablet so anything complicated is impossible.  I've been locked out on my laptop, like many others.

Bear, thanks for your efforts in keeping the RIP track current. Much appreciated.

Struggling to post from my phone today. Not sure why. Seems to be a connectivity issue, but other web sites load up just fine. Hope this isn't a trend.

First snow flurries of the season today. About time.

Snow flurries!! Yuck!! Though I guess that it's good that you have got your Christmas lights up, Mike,  no falling off the ladder or roof! However, becoming more Scrooge like the older I get, the less I like seeing Christmas decorations up before the 5th of December.  Still when in Ludington...Big Smile

Some of the good things at this time of year here, is fresh asparagus,  and Gisborne oranges. On the way to work, every several days, an elderly couple sell "seconds", oranges that are the wrong size, or have skin blemishes and are not seen to be suitable for the supermarkets.  Talk about being fresh and juicy!

Simon, apart from the 1/8 th rod on which they are perched, my spark plug aeroplanes are made from used parts and scrap. A drawing for a mod that required me to put "nutserts" into a carbon fiber structure called for the use of "Metalset A4" an epoxy that is an adhesive that can be filed, drilled, and tapped. As I only needed a about a tablespoon,  and as mentioned being a Scrooge,  I am using the "Metalset " instead of solder,  as I don't want it to over run its shelf life.

Updating the RIP Track is just a little thing I can do to repay (?) the Forum, though I hope those three spaces remain unoccupied for a considerable time.

I note that CNCharlie has joined the ranks of the "login lockouts"! Sigh

Her-in-doors and I are flying down to Dunedin today to see our daughter,  haven't seen her for a year, so looking forward to this evening. Big Smile

Cheers,  the Bear. Smile

Snow flurries!! Yuck!!

Oh come now. They're pretty! Laugh A guy across the hall from me at work was cursing me for doing a snow dance in my office, blaming me for our weather. I told him I couldn't be responsible. I've been doing a snow dance for a month. Hadn't worked yet! Laugh

I am glad to have the lights up on the roof. Getting them down is a crap shoot. Sometimes they come down early January, sometimes early April.

Sitting in Indianapolis this morning as my youngest has a soccer tournament here this weekend. Indoors today but outdoors Saturday and Sunday. Fingers crossed the weather holds.

Bear, enjoy your trip!

Happy Friday everyone!

Gidday Chloe  is it OK to disturb the Diners staff, when it's so quiet?!!

Just spent a pleasant day traveling on the Taieri Gorge Railway with Her-in-doors,  the daughter and her boyfriend.  Should be able to post photos when I get back home.

I'm afraid  Mike,  that you're not selling me on the joys of snow flurries!Laugh

Good evening diners. Flo, just coffee please, see below.

just got home from celebrating our usual Thanksgiving dinner with our sister in law and her family. A great day as always. It had to be done today due to a conflict with her daughter in law's family. Was a great day, too much wine, too much food. I'm glad I don't eat like this every day/week or else I'd be 300 lbs.

now the last push to get everything done involving fall/winter season change over. Final grass/leaves cutting, packing up deck furniture to shed, snowblower from shed to garage, wash 32 windows/doors. Speaking of snowblowers, slight chance might need to use it thanksgiving day here in MA, though probably will be just rain. Hope so, we're planning to drive to CT to my wife's family cemetery to place Xmas baskets. If snow will pick another day. Wishing everyone here the best and happy thanksgiving (just in case I can't get back in here again before Thursday).

Well I hope those who celebrate Thanksgiving have had a good time.

Am thoroughly enjoying catching up with my daughter and some old friends.

Visited the Royal Albatross colony, got some photos of some nesting  but am dubious on having gotten any worthwhile photos of them in flight, a magnificent sight.

Went for over an hours walk along one of the local surf beaches today, with the possibility of seeing sea lions. Great walk but no luck on the sea lion front, until just round the corner, not 20 yards from where we had parked the car, where two basking in the sun by the road! Sigh Laugh

Howdy guys. Flo, Rum Chata on ice please.

Spent the last 7 hours prepping food for tomorrow. Still have to brine the turkeys this evening. I sure hope the family appreciates this! Laugh

Got the snowblower and lawn mower swapped around and ready for winter as well. Productive day so far but now my feet hurt. Time to sit for a bit.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Water Level Route

Good Morning Diners.  Janie, coffee and a powdered doughnut.

maxman
And have you tried logging in from someone else's computer, like at a library?

I've not tried logging in from elsewhere.  I had been logged in on three computers.  My desktop, my laptop, and my phone.  I was automatically logged in on each of these devices.  Somehow, I have become logged out on my laptop (literally went to the forum one day and wasn't logged in and that's when the trouble started), and when I attempt to sign in, I get a message that some sort of error has occured and to contact a site administrator.  I've tried both Chrome and Edge and get the same result.  My desktop and phone still have me logged in, so I can still use those for now.  I'm afraid to try logging out and attempting to log back in.  I'm guessing I would never be let back in.

I think that the login is tied to a cookie that was issued from the site before the trouble started. I was logged in on two computers with the Firefox browser on each, can't login with Safari. I bought a new computer to replace my desktop computer and was worried about losing the ability to login from the new desktop. Figured it was worth trying a trick with copying the Firefox "application files" before installing FF on my new computer - and it worked (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this).

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Brunhilda, may I have a turkey sandwich, with unsweetened iced tea?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Erik_Mag - Interesting that worked for you. I've tried deleting cookies to no avail. Maybe another attempt is in order.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Mike,

It wasn't the deleting cookies that worked for me, but copying the cookies that were working to a new computer. Unfortunately FireFox no longer supports examining or mainpulating individual cookies, so I don't know which cookie of cookies are being used to login. I was able to copy the cookies by the expedient of copying ALL of the FireFox application support files to my new computer.

Back before the "troubles" began, the website would invalidate logins after a couple of weeks and requiring a new login - but it seems that behavior has been turned off.

Here's hoping the login issue gets fixed soon.

Greetings all! Flo, thnx for coming in on your day off. Just finished dinner of rib roast, mashed spuds and brussel sprouts, cuz had official Thanksgiving on Sunday. So Flo, how about a slice of apple pie a la mode and a coffee please.

Good to see a new name here-Erik, thnx for coming in. As I had previously mentioned regarding squirrel season I'm glad to report that all seasonal change over chores are done! Yeah! Tomorrow starts Xmas season. Put up window candle and put up two Xmas trees. My bride will do the decorating, I'll just hang the star on the top, cuz I'm taller.

Saturday, is one of best days all year. Here in Eastern MA/Southern NH is first day of 2 day Tour De Chooch. Many guys open their home to accept visitors to their layout. Was even shown yesterday on NH television (Channel 9) magazine show. My brother in law and I will hopefully visit 5 layouts. It's a full day but very enjoyable. A friend who is on the tour suggested I host next year, but my layout, which is not large (14' x 16'), I think would be interesting to visitors but the isles are very narrow (just 24"-30"). So if more than 2-3 visitors at one time could be an issue. Anyway, Bill and I will enjoy Saturday a lot.

Kind of belated, but I want to wish every one that I hope they had a wonderful Thanksgiving, along with best wishes to all, especially those among us with certain life's struggles.

Regards, Chris
