It's good that the Forum is open again. I was concerned it was gone - and if it was I wouldn't have been surprised.
I wish I (we) had had a warning of the shutdown (likely due to the transition), and maybe there was, but I didn't see it.
Anyway, its good to have it back, and I think we all feel likewise. Ha, now if only I could get my avator back where it belongs...
ENJOY !

It might be back but there are still issues.
I am posting this from my phone where I was able to log on. On my PC I can read posts but I can't login.

Nope, there wasn't. And it still confounds me why a simple sticky note cannot be provided on each of the fora for "known" or foreseen shutdowns. It's just courtesy to members; some of whom are paying patrons of the various [Firecrown] publications.
Years ago these shutdowns were handled much differently...

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Seeing the low number of replys to the forums, some people might not know it's back, or might not be able to log-on as noted, or may have just left the forums.
For quite awhile the only device that I've been able to login to the forums is my tablet. For the most part, I only check it once or maybe twice a day.
There are a quite a few people who have left the forums as well, unfortunately. That is sad as their knowledge will no longer be able to those of us who are still here.
Though I'm a Technological Luddite, I rather suspect that it wasn't a planned shutdown, Lurching towards Oblivion" (which incidentally would make a good title for a Prog Rock album) is more like it.
And at the risk of coming across as a stuck record, while I fully understand that the Forum has a very low priority in the general scheme of things I am astounded at the lack of direct communication with the Forum regarding its future!
I find it ironic that most of what I've gleaned has come from open discussions on the MRH Forum!!
And before this gets deleted, I should add that Joe Fugate has stated,
"We expect Trains.com to make a comeback under Firecrown... ...Here's to a bright future for the hobby media.:
No dog in the Manger attitude, there!
I do believe that many of those who have migrated over There have done so because of the login issue.
My one cents worth, the Bear.
"One difference between pessimists and optimists is that while pessimists are more often right, optimists have far more fun."
My fear is that the lack of posting is going to send the message (right or wrong) that many have given up on this forum and that it will be shut down permanently. If that happens it will come with no warning.
Over the years I have bookmarked many threads that had information that I wanted to be able to retrieve. In case the forum goes away I have started the tedious task of saving those threads as a pdf while I can.
Question becomes whether any of the forums will survive, even MRH has a few issues and the number of fourums that are long gone is very long.

I believe that there will always be a need for a platform to learn and share ideas. I also believe that there are enough of us who find FB to be such a horrible platform that forums will survive. Maybe not this one and maybe not as many as there once were but the number is certainly not zero.
