Good morning from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio!
I could not get into the forum with my post from last week so here it is, along with another car I got done this week.
Coal Hopper #6, Stewart 14 Panel Hopper car kit, painted with Scalecoat II Black paint and lettered with R-C Decals, the NYC went into a building program in the late 50's building a large number of 70 Ton 3 bay hopper cars to replace worn out and less called for two bay 50 ton hoppers.Next a Moloco 50'GATC RBL kit, modified to match the cars the DTI owned, which meant cutting down the ladders as these came with low mounted brake wheels and grabs at the end of the car instead of ladders. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Armour Yellow, Black and Silver paints and lettered with Herald King Decals. This car was painted with the late 70's experimental paint scheme with the Star Herald. A number of cars in each class of cars was painted with the Star Herald but due to the expense of the Scotchcal, the majority of the cars the herald was applied to was the RBL's assigned to the Campbell South plant.A pair of Athearn GP40-2's with a group of XLI and RBL Boxcars in Campbell's Soup service running on the Strongsville Club Layout.
I had an extra IMRC Double Door 50' PS1 so I built it to replicate some on the IC, narrowed the plug door down to 6' wide and substituted a 10' Kadee slider. Painted the car with IC Orange and Black Scalecoat II paints and lettered with Dan Kohlbergs IC decals.
Rick, another nice start to the weekend, with photos of your excellent work on cars. I don't know where you find the time to do such detailed great work!
On the old layout, this was just a fun project. It was my second attempt at N scratch building. I don't think there's space on the new layout for this. Norman Bates welcomes a customer to the motel:

Rick, Thanks for another WPF roll-out. Always absorbing fun is seeing your models and club shots.
John, Really dig how you went 'Psycho' on your old layout, but think I'll take a bath tonight instead of a shower. Even without space available on the new layout the scene makes for a great diorama and a fine rendition of a Hitchcock classic. Can't say 'Rear Window' didn't cross my mind during structure planning.
