Mixed feelings here. Hoping for the best tho!

I've been trying to make contact with anyone about what's been happening to this website and specifically the forums, with negligible success. I got one "chat room" reply from the Flying site, but left immediately when I asked if it was a pay site, which it was, and I suspect it was third party and really had no information anyway.
I did get a couple of probably real replies. I say "real" because they were pretty much empty word salad answers. One provided me with a temporary password they said would work. However, English was apparently not this person's primary language. Besides, if nobody other than me could access the forum, who would there be to talk to?
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
If the Admins aren't going to say anything, I highly doubt customer service has any insight or clue into these ongoing issues with the fora server.

Attuvian1 BATMAN This probably explains why they have been putting off fixing the forums. But will Freightwaves be any more inclined to pursue any remedies? John

Batman, not so. The Forums have not been fixed previously because there was no staff or budget to do so, and the Forums did not make enough money to pay for themselves.
Attuvian, Firecrown has big plans for the website, so we are hopeful.

ERIC SCHROWANG Hopefully this is a good move. The new owners did not buy them to go out of business. Unfortunately you only have 2 or 3 real Model Rairoaders left, Cody and David and Eric being the three of them. The rest of the staff is pretty much young kids who would not know a Model RR if it hit them in the face. Some of the other older staff just don't want to do Model Railroading. I guess time will tell.

As the Model Railroader staff member who designed this year's project layout and built and scenicked most of it, I take that personally.

The Forums have one admin, me. And thanks to ongoing server problems, I have been unable to log in for about two weeks. This morning, the server came up, so I'm dealing with the backlog of moderated posts... and more than a little unearned snark.

Some of the user angst over the past weeks has been about our concern for the MR employees we have worked with and gotten to know over the years. Many of us have experienced acquisitions and reorganizations in our own lives, and often they have left us missing associates and friends.
Will there still be a Model Railroader forum? We don’t know. I have asked the "Contact Us" people at Flying, but the answers were just word salad, which I found discouraging. I, too, hope for the best.
Thanks for at least getting in touch again. It's appreciated more than you know.

Returning to model railroading after 40 years and taking unconscionable liberties with the SP&S, Northern Pacific and Great Northern roads in the '40s and '50s.
Steve, as You probably know I have expressed several times recently my disappointment with the events of the past few months. That said, here I am, still here. I certainly can't speak for everyone who visits here, but I think it's fair that I can speak for many/most of us that we very much appreciate what you have done in the past and that you are trying to keep us up to date with what's going on presently. As Mr. Beasley stated, it is very much appreciated.
Regards, Chris
