What is the best source for decal paper?
Posted by Morpar on Friday, April 19, 2024 6:57 PM

I am getting ready to start printing my own decals with a laser printer, but not real sure about where to get good decal paper. I know I will need both clear and white paper, so where is a good source? I have seen a number of different choices on Amazon, but am not sure if the papers they offer are too thick to our use. How about the stuff from MicroMark? Any other sources I should look at?

Good Luck, Morpar

I ordered from a website with the pretty generic name of decalpaper.com.

The paper was fine, and much cheaper than hobby store paper by a factor of ten.  Shipping was terrible, but that was the US Postal Service.  I now have a lifetime supply of paper for $20.

Yeah, I couldn't find it either.  Like I said, a lifetime supply.  I bought it 6 or seven years ago.  It was a place in Florida, as I recall.  A lot of businesses have come and gone in that time frame.

At the time, hobby shops were selling it for like $10 for 3 sheets, and I got it for $20 for 20 sheets.  I guess it pays to shop around.

I can't even find the website decalpaper.com, so clearly not active.

Does the type of decal paper you need matter based on the type of printer you're using? I would think getting decals printed from Office Depot (or similar) produces clearer results.  Of course, I would not go there for just one decal.

Yes, the type of decal paper matters.  The two types of decal paper are ink jet and laser jet paper.  They are spcificaly designed for those types of printers.
