I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Well Dave, my workspace is just as bad as the one seen on the video - some days even worse! Like the guy says on the video, having tunnel vision helps to make me focus on the work, not on the decor .

Dave, my workbench is just as bad. Unfortunately in my case, a messy workbench doesn't equal the great quality work that guy achieves.

Nothing wrong with a messy desk. Clutter is a clear sign of someone innovative at work. Working on keeping a workbench clean and organized reminds me of work and MR is a hobby.
Cluttered workbench, cluttered mind.
I've yet to meet a successful mechanic or carpenter who doesn't carefullu maintain and put away tools. Most of them are proud of their organization.
Not putting things away and cleaning up is pure laziness, and a clear sign one doesn't pay attention to or care about details.
(If you're soldering on a cluttered workbench, I hope your insurtance company won't refuse to pay out.)

That's me -- purely lazy. There's lots of other things wrong with me, too. I'll list them in the diner.
The wife gave up on me and bought me a sign for the shop. It says. Organized people are just too lazy to look for something.
To be honest. I will clean and organize the shop. Then start a project. After starting said project something comes up that needs to be fixed now. And after a few of these need it now things, the shop is a mess. Always happens.

I have to disagree. My workbench is cluttered but I still manage to produce some very interesting scratch builds and kit bashes. Mind you, that doesn't prove that my mind is not cluttered!
Well, there is "clutter", and there is "CLUTTER"......
Personally, I like to start each project off with a clean workspace, but by the time I'm done its definitely overgrown with clutter. But like many of the other builders on this forum, having a cluttered work space did not stop me from turning out some pretty decent models.
I spent most of my 43 work years in office areas. I early on came to the conclusion that anyone with a constant "neat and tidy" desk didn't do a heck of a lot. And those with piles of stuff all over didn't either - they were just slobs.
But the prolific folks tended to have desk tops / work spaces somewhere in between.
