Mike, I was born and raised in that area and I can tell you it´s not really a pretty region to live in. It is one of the most populated areas of Germany with rather unsightly buildings and plenty of heavy industry. Certainly not your picture book Germany with rolling hills, snaking rivers, castles and ginger bread houses. Unfortunately, most of the buildings you can buy from Faller, Kibri or Vollmer won´t fit to that area, as they are the ones you will find in southern Germany - the picture book country.
