Is it possible to use a Kato 4 way crossover with Bachmann EZ Track? I have an intentianlly small layout and the using the Kato 4 way crossover is the only/best way to make use of the super tight space.
Anything is possible almost but the two types have different connectors etc. Might be an easy mod or it could be hard but not typicaly a beginner project. Just looked, hard mod.
Assuming HO. If so, Kato rail has a different profile than EZ plus Kato is code 83 and I think EZ is 100. If your layout is small go all Kato. I have a small layout and my kato track and turnouts have performed flawlessly for 16 years.

I'm pretty sure this is N scale (Kato doesn't make a four-way crossover in HO).
EZ-track is basically just regular sectional track attached to a gray subroadbed. Althought the roadbed part snaps together, the rails use conventional rail joiners. This is different from Unitrack, where the joiners are connected to plastic pieces that click the tracks together.
If you remove the Kato Unitrack rail joiners, you should be able to connect the Bachmann track using the regular rail joiners...assuming the rails are all the same 'code' (height). I'm not sure if Bachmann EZ-track is the same height rail as Kato; I know EZ-track is the same rail height as Atlas track.
However, if you haven't already bought track, I would second the idea of just using Unitrack for the entire layout. Very reliable, many options.
