The way it was done
Posted by rogerhensley on Saturday, June 8, 2002 8:17 AM
After giving it a lot of thought, I decided to post this in the modeling section as I believe that realistic modeling (I model in HO) can best be achieved when you know more about how the prototype did it. To that end, there are a number of articles in the memory pages of my Railroads of Madison County web site http://madisonrails.railfan.net that describes how several railroads including the PRR/NYC/PC/CR operated in Indiana in the 40s right to the end of Conrail.

The last subject that I posted was 'The Use of Tools' by track gangs is a followup on the
Maurice Lewman's 'Communications (or how to railroad without a radio)' and 'Track Maintenance'. There is much more there. Just take the Memory Pages link.

I'll not bother the group with this again.
:-)

Roger; the sharing of prototype information is always welcomed,by many of us, as all such information can be both helpful and informative.
Thanks and regards / Mike
