Mantua Motor Replacement
Posted by Calapooya on Sunday, October 29, 2023 12:18 PM

A Mantua 2-6-6-2 seems to need a new motor.  It is the 1996 version with a tender and can motor.  Anyone done this and recommend a replacement motor?

Around 1989, Mantua switched over from open-frame motors to Sagami can motors, and offered the can motors as a drop-in retro refit. If you search around online you might find one of those for a decent price. (That should be what came with your engine if it was made in 1996.)
