Tin Can II Once we save up for it, she wants to lay carpet in the train room and basement hallway. I am not going to say no.

Very nice of her. Unfortunately it makes it very hard to find all the small parts you drop.
Tin Can IIShe painted all of the walls upstairs; about she is 1/3 of the way through the trim. She has painted two big rooms in the basement and is working on the guest bedroom now.
Yes, you are quite lucky there.
I can't even get my wife to cut the corners for me... I have to do everything!

Living the dream.
Attuvian1 Well, TC, you're a blessed man. But carpet in the train room? Have you not yet plied her with stories of tiny springs, screws and grabs?
My last house and this one both have carpeted train rooms. It makes them comfortable and more appealing to non-raliroaders, too. I typically don't do tiny parts things there, though. That's what a shop is for. Heat, ceiling lights and AC, too, and a big screen TV with a couple of couches. Big room.

I thought MTH was sold to the employees. Their About Us page said it was broken into 3 companies, but they do not name the other companies.
I remember threads about DCS. Not something you would want to have, even if there was support available.
I enjoyed painting when I was finished and realized I accomplished something. Once my should went south, no more painting for me.
I hope our Southern diners weather the storm OK. I'm not sure I remember what rain looks like. There have been scattered showers but not over my house. We have lots of tomatoes. I must have picked 2 dozen today.

Hi Everyone,
Brunhilda, coffee with cream, please.
Last Sunday our kitchen faucet had been leaking a substantial amount for some time. That's when we discovered the leak. The water was coming down the supply lines and had gotten the floor of the sink base so saturated that it was sagging and mold was starting to grow. Funny thing is that all of this happened in a short amount of time. We had to replace the faucet and tear out the soaked MDF cabinet floor. Last night I got the "solution" such as it is, in place. Finishing up today. Aarrrgh!
Since this is the last day for depots, I might as well post the other "depot." I don't know which railroad it serves, and the tracks must be somewhere behind the building because I don't see them.

My wife considers the train room to be temporary; she is concerned about how that room will look to potential buyers. I am trying to convince her that we need to stay in Kansas for as long as possible when I retire. We love the house, and moving is not fun.

We decided in 2017 that this house is our last house. When we bought it, it was a "Starter Home" and a "Fixer-Upper", that was 24 years ago. Now it is the perfect house for a retired couple. We saved ourselves the trouble of downsizing for retirement.
I am amazed we raised three girls here, and the house was always filled with their friends.
No, moving is never any fun at all. I hope you can stay where you are for a long time.
If we are agreed to go to Washington State for September, I will be happy to move the diner tonight.

Good evening Diners. A Pusser's Rum please, Zoe, and a drink for those that come in tonight put it on my tab.
Just the last of the packing to do then off we go; a cruise to Italy. Off course a stop in Gibraltar to buy more Pusser's Rum.
Back in two weeks.

We will be here when you get back.
Hi Kevin,
We look forward to you taking us to the magnificent state of Washington!
Cheers!!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

All right...
I will move the diner and set it up in the Pacific Northwest (Southwest for our Canadian friends) after midnight tonight.
Well, well: my top-of-the page responsibility went uncared for.
RBFs for all. Of course this late at night on the last day of the month, I'm ending up closing the diner! Some would call it a smooth move. But I have tomorrow morning's egg on my face. My sweetie always says I'm cheap. I guess the proof's here for all to see.
