Here is a Plastics Plant with a Walthers Pellet Unloading Facility mated with a kitbashed factory using Pikestuff Components and additional detail parts. Taking up a corner on the Strongsville Club Layout. (Waiting for the scenery gurus to add the ballast and other scenery)

More industries please!

Ed, I have a question. Is there a prototype for that engine. I remember back in 1992, Bush 41 was riding a campaign train through the Midwest and it went right past our golf course as our group was putting on the 5th green. We waved to the train but we have no idea if the President saw us.

My recollection of the loco was that it was dark blue and gold. I believe it was seen as a backdrop in the Clint Eastwood movie, In The Line Of Fire, in which Eastwood plays a Secret Service agent trying to foil a threatened assassination of the President. I don't have that movie on DVD even though it is one of my favorite movies. John Malkovich was brilliant as the assassin. Anyway, I'm curious if the loco in your picture represents the same one I saw in 1992. The movie was released in 1993.

Update: I found a picture of the 1992 campaign train and it is what I remembered.

Don't know why I can't get this to post as a clickable link.

I'm guessing the loco in Ed's pictures might be from Bush 41's funeral train.

Yes, the 4141 was used in the funeral train but its history preceeds that.

Take a look here for some good photos of the dedication:

https://blog.overlandhobbies.com/2018/10/01/omi-up-george-bush-presidential-library-and-museum-sd70ace-4141-consignment-model/

Funny thing about my staged photo. I had not seen these photos of the dedication before 'staging' the scene when Mr. Bush had died. I was surprised at how close I came in the scene where the parties involved were standing on the walkway of the locomotive.

 UP_4141d by Edmund, on Flickr

I bought this SD70 at a closeout sale only because I liked the colors. After Mr. Bush passed away there was a huge scramble for the model suppliers to fill orders for the engine. It had been known for several years that the UP was going to 'dust off' the engine for the funeral train. The model manufacturers should have anticipated that.

The 1992 is a different engine than the 4141.
