If you have the past editions of MR. see April 2001 for the Athearn and July 2001 for the IM

I have both and the Athearn Genesis wins. However, you may not be able to find the road name you want in Athearn so that may make the decision for you.

I have two Genesis F7 AB sets. Both run very well and are the most reliable locos I own. I highly recommend the Genesis units.
