I am glad your grandkids are enjoying their bachmann set.  Theres nothing wrong with that.  I was simply pointing out that they would enjoy it longer with some reliability upgrades.  [quote user="oldline1"]So maybe we need to rethink our poor opinion of what Bachmann puts out in the non-Spectrum world?[/quote] You asked this question.  The answer is no.  The price of a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts is a small price to pay for couplers that will last much longer than leaf springs.  Please correct me if they have changed that, but from what I could see the box says ez-mate (vice ez-mate mk2).
