Treats By Train!
Posted by dknelson on Friday, October 21, 2022 10:17 AM

It's time to get ready for the Trick Or Treaters again and weather permitting, we will once again deliver the treats by Lionel train.  My wife took the video a couple of years ago

She laughs because (you can just barely hear it) a Union Pacific train's horn was heard just as the treat train came to a stop with the candy bars in the gondola.

Good Stuff here!  I like Trick or Treats by TrainYes

My friend Paul from my Model Railroad Club had a story.  First of all the man has it made!!!  When he was laid off for a while from Burlington Northern he went to work for the SOO Line which is of course Canadian Pacific.  Somehow he gets two Railroad Pensions nowPirate

Back when he rode the shift quite often throughout North Dakota, when they came back into Minnesota they would pass a Godfather's Pizza and would call ahead.

They would slow the train way down by Godfather's.  One of the guys would go out on the locomotive deck and hand the money and tip in a bag to the pizza guy jogging along handing them the pizzaDinner

I've had pizza on a Train before but never like thatLaugh

The BNSF guys that work this side of the border get paid in U.S. funds, so depending on currency value their wages either go up or down.Laugh

Has anyone been to the Tweetsie Railroad?

If everyone did this, the neighborhood kids would get to know who the O-scalers were.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

This is a good time to revive this thread so folks can enjoy the YouTube who have not seen it before.

Weather promises to be rather frosty this Sunday afternoon but the trains will be running with candy bars in the gondolas.  I have yet to decide whether it will be Marx or Lionel on the O-27 track this year.

Thanks for bringing back your Treats by Train, brightened my morning.  I vote Marx!

Will never forget the 3-rail Marx set my Pops brought home during the 1955 holiday season.

Regards,  Peter
