According to a Facebook post and reviewing some UK model railroad forums, author Iain Rice passed away on Saturday.
That's sad to hear. Ian Rice was a very good promoter of how to do something besides the conventional - in layout design, layout construction, etc. I enjoy his books.

Its always sad to hear of the passing of one of our fellow modelers. I strongly considered building a layout to on of Ian's designs.
