Hello to everyone here on the MRR forum,I wanted to make this post as a way of saying hello to my aquaintances here on the first model railroad related forum I ever joined. The "start conversation," function to create a private message chat is not working at the moment, so until thats fixed I cannot talk with any of you (such as Overmod) who I was PMing before. If there are other ways any of us could chat together like FB, google hangout etc, please do let me know in the comments below. Hope your all doing ok.
Sorry to say that the PM function has not worked for quite some time. Public forum is still functional at the moment. Occasionally when you want to post or start a new thread you will get the dredded 404 not authorized warning and everything you typed is gone.
Other than that. Hi.
Pete.
Well, I suppose that you could let people know your facebook Id and ask them to "friend" you.
For years, I used the PM feature to exchange messages with other forum members on a variety of topics. Then, it late December, everything blew up. I could no longer send or receive PMs, along with a host of other issues. Earlier this year, for no apparent reason, the PM feature reappeared. All of my old PMs were there once again, but I still could not send messages. However, I could send a message to anyone that I had previously PM'd by replying to an old PM.
So, my suggestion is to try that and see if it works for you. Find an old PM between you and Overmod and reply to it with a new message. Let us know if that works for you like it does for me.

Hello. My email address is in my profile. No need for PM messages.

Living the dream.
If you PMed anybody, you can still open that conversation, scroll to the end, and add a reply'. I can still respond to those, and in fact my 'message waiting' notification still will light up in red to let me know I have a reply... even on an iPhone that won't let me answer.
You may need to use an older browser, perhaps even on an old OS on an old computer. For example I can't use any version of Firefox newer than about 61.0 (using Mac OS X 10.11.4) to actually type anything because system security won't render the (active and functional!) text-entry window in the graphics.
It can be a pain going through what may be pages of material to find the conversation, and then more of a pain scrolling down what might be 6 or 7 pages of older replies. But at least it can be done... for the moment, anyway.
