Hi Everyone,

I'm afraid I'll have to defer the start of the diner for October to someone else.  I have too much going on next month to monitor or contribute.  But, I've no objection to doing more diners.  It was fun.

Less is more,...more or less!

Good morning, everyone.  I'll have bacon, eggs, and black coffee, Chloe.

The leaves are just beginning to change here.  The ash trees are first -- they just turn brown and drop.  My maple trees will turn bright orange next.  Last are the oak trees.  They will turn rust-colored red late.

Last day of September -- this is the first Kansas depot for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, on the outskirts of Wichita:

St. Marys, Kansas is about 50 miles west of Kansas City.  I thought this photo of the elevators was a pretty neat example for a layout's grain elevators.  The concrete silos are still there, but the other buildings have been torn down (pretty sure about that).

Have a great Friday, everyone!

I can take care of turning on the lights and lighting the pilot under the coffee urn for the October Diner.

Fall colo(u)rs it is! Wilson is like a kitten in the leaves. He likes to rake a pile of them and jump in —

Brother LION,

To Wilson, a Grizzly is just another yawning creature.  But it had better not muss up his leaves . . .  Super Angry   The only Bear he responds to may be our friend in New Zealand. Laugh

As Bear says, "This is all too much nonsense".

What's important here is the superintendent construction inspector Wilson coming home from work.

Give that good Cat a break!  He might want to see the Fall Leaves Colour changes too!

I got another update from Kevin.

Home Depot has reopened and is selling generators and supplies but corporate dictates they must close by 5 PM leaving some shoppers cut off. No sign of National Guard, Salvation Army or any other FEMA help. Other stores are closing at 5 PM, too.

He and his family are safe and doing OK. His neighbor has a generator and is sharing some power. I hope he can report in person soon.

Our thoughts are with you Kevin!
