Good Morning!

Today´s the 24th of December. the Holy Eve, which is the big day for German children, as Santa brings the presents as sun as the sun has set. I bet most of the kiddies are getting quite anxious already early in the morning!

It is the day of the year my mind wanders back to my childhood days. In the late 1950´s and early 1960´s, most people were rather poor in this country and presents were few, which made them even more precious to us. It was a time of togetherness, much more than it is these days. It must be a sign of getting old age, but I found Christmas back then much more heartwarming than it is today. Maybe it is the time to step back a little and look back to what we once had.

We won´t exchange any presents this year, but fed the money set aside for this into the piggy bank called "moving". I have donated a small, but sizable amount for us to the family of the truck driver who was killed in the Berlin attack by the terrorists.

I will be receiving a gift, though, from my friend in Japan. Some time ago, he had scratchbuilt a tram based on the former Hamburg streetcars, which he will be sending to me. I feel very much honored!

Here is a picture of it:

What better words can there be for today, other than those?
