Atlas S1 Axle replacement
Posted by rm5248 on Thursday, November 25, 2021 12:27 PM

Hi all,

I've got an Atlas S1(red box) that has a cracked gear on the axle.  It appears to be an 18-tooth gear on the axle.  Does anybody have experience replacing the gear, or is there a drop-in replacement that somebody makes for the axle?  I do have a spare unit that I can cannibalize, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Outer dimension: 7.5 mm

Inner dimension(axle size): 2mm

Welcome to the forum, your posts are delayed by moderation for a short while.

Possibly someone has one in their parts been in the forum.  AFAIK on Northwest Shortiline makes aftermarket gears.

I don't understand gear nomenclature.  What does mod mean, anyone?

I would email them.

rm,

I would recommend contacting Atlas directly via phone or email.  They do sell parts and I've had good experience & success from them in that regard.  Might as well try getting the original part from the manufacturer first.

If that's not an option then you might be able to locate an Atlas S1 chassis on eBay.  Like the Proto 2000 gears, it should be a drop-in replacement.
