Has there ever been a part made that is equivilant to the footboard pilot that comes on Proto 2000 SD7s and SD9s? Atlas, Details West, and Detail Associates have footboards, but they're not the same type. I'm preparing some locomotive projects and it appears I might need some. I'd prefer an existing part over having to draw one up in CAD.
Here's the prototype part I'm after:

Peter, your photograph illustrates the pilot of a retired Korean National Railways EMD G-12 export unit, but doesn't identify the point of your interest. Older Korean EMDs (G-8, 12, 22,) seem to share the same pilot. This might make it something that did not appear on domestic units. The draft gear box and the slope-topped structure under it between the foot boards, under the coupler are not like those on any SD-7s or SD-9s that I can find, Korean or otherwise. Could you be more specific as to what you are looking at and for?
Apologies, I should have included a picture of the P2K part. Here's a P2K SD9 of mine, I'm specifically talking about the removable footboard piece on the bottom. It pulls straight out in order to remove the shell.
It's not identical to the footboard on the G12 I posted, but I think it's similar enough that I can modify it or a similar part to make it work. It has a sloped structure that is under the coupler, though not quite the same shape. Korean G8s and early G12s (Class 4000) have this similar footboard type, later G12s, G22s, and others have a footboard that is more similar to Detail Associates part SY2208.
Thanks for taking the time to do some digging!
Beautiful paint job you did on that one Peter.
Your SD-9 is fantastic, even down to the hangul on the pilot end sheets. If I read this right, the object of your interest is the sloping block between the footboards. The KNR units have flat ends while many non-steam generator equipped American EMDs used a sloping block with a pointed end. I know of no ready made prat of this design. Since none of the units with this type of steam generator connections, KNR may have decided to make their own gap fillers. Sorry I couldn't be of help but continue to show us your KNR modeling.

Thank you! I'll make a separeate thread showing the models I've done so far later.
My object of interest is the entire footboard itself. I've scratchbuilt the flat block piece before, but the footboard steps themselves have not been offered by any detail parts companies in the style found on SD9s. I just found that Atlas footboards for the SD24 are available, and look pretty much identical, so I'll try those out.
Da StumerThank you! I'll make a separeate thread showing the models I've done so far later.
I look forward to it.
Please... share some of your projects in Weekend Photo Fun if you can.
