NorthBrit A 'must have' railroad item even though it is out of timescale. area or whatever.
There are a few.
This load of brand new 1955 Buicks is one. I model August, 1954, so the time is too old for this automobile's presence. The new model year would have come out in September, 1954, so MAYBE it is semi-plausible that they might have been in shipment.
However, I loved the car models, and I always wanted one of these Athearn "car carrier" train cars. So I had to have it.
I like this topic. How about another "must have" railroad item that is in your collection even though it is out of time period, scale, geographical area, or whatever.
Okay, it's been a while. When I was a kid it was B/A oil. Dad filled the car there and our good friend owned a B/A service station and fixed our car(s) I have an affinity for anything B/A oil and these propane cars are way past my timeline. I heard that Atlas made 6#s and I kept my eye out for all six. I paid between $20.00 and $40.00 each to collect them all. The last one I got, I spotted at a train show from a distance and as I walked towards it I pulled my list of #s from my wallet, and sure enough, it was the one I did not have. That was the $40.00 one.
