A switch list idea
Posted by ndbprr on Friday, October 22, 2021 4:11 PM

If I use a spreadsheet and list the railroads for which I have cars. Under that railroad heading I can put the car numbers for the railroad. In the next column I can say to what industry that car goes. I can have any number of columns that say where the car goes next like return to owning railroad. Next column to a different industry, etc.  So if I start ops. With column one the next session would use column two then 3,4,5,6. Then op session 7would start over at column 1. I can message or e mail the list to the operators and they can use their phones to operate the railroad. sound plausible?  No paperwork involved. Easily changed. It could even call out the train it is to go to.  All a user has to do us scroll to the railroad and read what the column say's to do with it.

Sounds doable IF you have a small fleet.  Otherwise your operators will be spending all their time scrolling instead of running the railroad.  Now, if you use that spreadsheet to generate switch lists instead......Just my My 2 Cents
