Where do the super-detail parts go on the Life-Like P2K ALCO S1?
Posted by Portland Bill on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 7:49 AM

Hi, I just got a pair of Southern S1s from Ebay. They are LL 21366 and 21367, SOU no.2000 & no.2006 from the blue-box, body not mounted on the chassis era. The parts bags are un-opened, and contain a lot of green-painted parts, but the exploded diagram is not very clear on exactly where they go, or on whether some are alternatives, e.g. the various grills on stilts. I know Life-like added generic parts bags to every model, not all of which were approriate to every model, like all-weather cab windows, (which I assume are redundant on the SOU?). Can anyone point me to a source on just which parts to use on green era SOU S1s and where to put them? I have not found any useful photos online yet.

Thanks,

Bill.

I tried a couple of Google image searches with no good results.

Is there an Historical Society for the SOUTHERN RAILROAD?

There is a historical society for Southern. It is located in Chattanooga.
