Wondered if others keep losing their stay logged on status. Happens to me all the time. Also when they send updates on whats new, they always make me log in unless I go straight to the site, can't veiw update otherwise.

I am always logged in.  I rarely get MR emails.  When I first subscribed, I would get Sky and Telescope ads and since i was not a subscriber to S&T there was no way to unsubscribe.  Customer service must have taken me off all the email lists.

I have to log in about every other time I look at it.  I'm also having trouble getting magazines in the archive to load.

Could it be "a cookie issue" with your browser?

I just checked, and I see 3 cookies from "trains.com" along with 2 more "local storage" items. 5 total, all coming from "trains.com".

Yes the cookie issue, they have the only site ever in recent times that I have had this issue with and I am online every day.
