Made a new video of the layout, just to get my mind off that nice looking, but hardly running loco:

While pondering my fate with that loco engine, I accidentally found the solution to my layout lighting problem. My initial idea saw two LED spots mounted somehow behind the backdrop, but it was that somehow which kept me from going for it, as I could not figure out how to mount them. My layout rests on that cabinet on casters, but I only move it around when I am w*rking on the layout or do track maintenance behind the backdrop. Most of them time it rests on the same spot, which allows me to get two cheap ceiling mounted spotlights and equip them with color-variable LED spots. With that, I can simulate different times of the day - from dawn to dusk. The investment is a minor one and is covered by a gift voucher I got from a friend. That´s going to be one of the next things on my layout to-do list - onece I get over that sulking phase!

Ken - ouch! Whatever it is, I hope it´ll go away soon!
