JaBear - yes, Braeburn seems to be the leading kind of apple here, replacing Granny Smith and Cox Orange. The best for apple strudel, however, is that age old Boskopp, which is long gone. It was the best for pies and strudels, but is not allowed to be marketed any longer. What a nonsense - but it´s a licensing issue. I just am grateful we don´t have to pay a license fee to Him for using Mother Earth as our habitat, or for the air that we breath. We have to pay for the water, though, and I am sure more will follow. I sure can follow what the Natives Americans said about the White Man´s greed... End of mini rant!
