I received a Fathers Day present this morning and it just blew me away! Knowing my love for trains my daughter always comes up with something a bit different but this is the best ever.I had never even heard of ROKR until I received the 3D Wooden Puzzle Locomotive in the mail this morning. I haven’t taken on the project as of yet. I watched the YouTube Video and it blew me away.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svL3T9xweegI’ll post my finished kit when I getter done.Mel Modeling the early to mid 1950s SP in HO scale since 1951My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California Aging is not for wimps.

And add sound too!!
Hi Mel,
What a great present! I guess the guys above didn't follow the video through or they would have realized that it is motorized (wind up that is)! I'll bet that it doesn't need any more sound than all those whirring gears and connecting rods will generate.
Laser cutting has come a long way! No glue required! Amazing!
Does the kit specify a wheel gauge? It would be interesting to have a piece of track to run it on. The video and still pictures show a wooden track under the loco but I couldn't see any reference to it on the website.
Have fun!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
That is a very considerate daughter. You raised her well.
Thanks for all the comments guys! Dave, there is no information in the 26 page instruction book. The axles look too long for O gauge and too short for G, I’ll have to wait until I do a bit of assembling. I won’t start it until I can do some work without arthritis pain, been pretty bad for a couple of weeks.Mel Modeling the early to mid 1950s SP in HO scale since 1951My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California Aging is not for wimps.
The still photos and the video show a laser cut wooden track but I couldn't find any reference to it on the website. Maybe you might ask them if the track is available.
I have to apologize to my son, it wasn’t a daughter that sent me the great Father’s Day train. When you have 7 kids and the gift doesn't have a givers name you have to guess. My arthritis is still a problem working with my hands so it will be awhile before I attempt construction. Congratulations! I've been into ROKR for a couple of years now. Great kits. I received the engine for my birthday last year. I sense from your posts that you will have the time and patience for the delicate parts, but I find occasionally I need to have the wood glue handy.
