Good Afternoon!

Another drab day over here, just wet & awful. Couple of hours ago we had a bad thunderstorm, just when I was heading for the sofa to take a nap. Lightning had struck fairly close to our house and the thunder was really earth-shattering!

I don´t think we will have much of a summer this year. I am hoping for some nice weather for the first weekend in August - it´s the annual Rail Fan´s Weekend at the DEV - a narrow gauge museum line about an hour´s drive away. During this weekend, the will have all locos they have under steam and that´s a total of 7 locos! Some sight!

Garry & JaBear - I am very much in a favor of that solution - I have no better idea for the moment. Maybe we should have a completely different approach to the name of the Diner in the coming year, as the memory on Jeff and Barry slowly starts to fade away, leaving only us "oldtimers" with fond thoughts on those two gentlemen and their contribution to this forum.

My friend Lothar has returned my Z scale Decapod - repaired. This guy is a wizard. It took him 6 hours, as he had to completely disassemble the loco and reassemble it. Truly a watchmaker´s job.

I have started to sell off my trains. Part of the funds I hope to get will be used for acquiring some more old Marklin stuff, but most of it, say 80%, will be put in the piggy bank for rainy days, of which we have plenty these days. Most of our appliances are dying of old age now ...

Ken -please keep us informed on how your daughter is doing!

TTFN!
