I’m trying to find out a way to order one of these motors.Someone posted this motor earlier and I’ve done a search with no luck.I bought it off eBay but can’t find my order looking back to 2019. I was testing it and it would make a good HO locomotive motor. They've since been discontinued by Chinese manufacturers.
They go by many names, but typing in "5 pole DC motor" always turned them up and they no longer exist.
You can see their original images of the item when you search it up on google...but when you try to go to the image source the links always show item not found.

It's a Chinese copy of the Kato HM-5. The first time I remember seeing one was in an Atlas diesel after they switched manufacturing from Kato to Sanda Kan.

I got 2 or 3 more than what I need so if you are stuck, you can have them for postage and what I paid for them. I originally ordered 2 but they seemed to have been lost in transit. I ordered another 3 and they are OK. Then 18 months later ... they arrived!!!! so I have a couple that I could probably use but not for a while!

TrevorThanks for the offer. I don’t need any more motors for my fleet, I just enjoy testing them out for other Forum Members.Early on I stumbled on to a good deal for Canon EN -22 motors. I bought 40 for $1.19 each. Then when I sorta stumbled on to the Mabuchi SF-266SA motors and over about a year I bought around 40 of those too.I built a Mel test dynamometer using a Canon EN-22 as a generator to compare motors to it. The Mabuchi SF-266SA came out equal to the Canon for a lot less cost than the going price now of the Canons at $20 or more each.Then I found the Mabuchi FK-280SA 14200 and it checked out about 20% more powerful than the Canon EN-22 and at the correct RPM of the Athearn BlueBox motors for under $3 each. I bough enough of them to remoter my entire Athearn fleet with several spares.I just enjoy messing around with motors and I finally got around to dinking with the motor in my earlier post and it didn’t do too bad on my tester. While not as powerful as the FK-280 at 1.4 amps locked rotor it has 910ma locked rotor, better than most cheapies. I have a box full of these I bought off of ebay back in 2020. I checked and the seller is no longer carrying that motor anymore and clicking through my old order just takes me to their new motor.
The new motor isn't the same. It has a much higher rpm, so I doubt it would be as good. I like these little motors, but have also found that the 1.5V~12V 5400RPM Double Shaft Mini 130 motors work really well in my Athearn repowered models. They are just as inexpensive, if not moreso.
