What's going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by rrebell on Monday, May 10, 2021 11:07 AM

I just relized that the header could be taken many ways but was intended in it's simplest form. Me train wise I have started doing what I call second tier scenery on my layout. First tier being the basics of plaster cloth, zip texturing, basic backdrop painting and basic feature placement (like turntables and round house) also things like putting a few trees, where there will be a forest at some point. Second tier to me is painting track,  basic turf and ballast and flushing out tree placement, at this point it starts to look like a real model. Had a few issues with this phase as I wanted to include static grass work, take it from me that ballast should ber done first, right after basic turf. I did invent a neat tool for grooming ballast edges. I have a mini hose kit to go with the vaccum but even the smallest nossel was too big. Found I could take a peice of 1/8" styrene tubing with a 45 on the working end and shove it into the angle attachment. It will stay and has just the right suction but not so much it will be sucked into the vaccum, I can pick up a single grain of ballast if needed and can zip right along an area and get a natural looking straight line (if you can call a ballast line straight).

I don't know what is going on.  I don't think I ever did.  Now I'm sure.

I think you are thinking of the Marvin Gaye song:

That is exactly the song that came into my head when I saw the title of this topic.
