Just curious as to what i would need and what it would cost to put sound in a Genesis SD70MAC.

See the February 2005 issue of Model Railroader.
Assuming you have the skills and equipment, a top quality installation will run you $150 to $200 in parts and material, plus the locomotive, using top of the line Soundtraxx.
You will need the capability to machine the frame, fabricate a box for the speakers, and installing wiring (solder).

hmmm, could a machine shop do the frame for me? or could i just do it with a dremel or something.
