Kevin. Thanks for your comments. 'Little' 10 or 12 ton wagons were a common feature on all the railways up to around 1970s. They were used for small industries (by U.S,A. standards) until British Railways did not want to cater for them. B.R. only wanted big Companies. Therefore the smaller Companies began to use road transport.
Rail traffic is now handled by larger vehicles with bogies (railroad trucks)
Having grandchildren 'helping me' since they were three or four year old, little four wheeled wagons and vans are easy for them to handle, so are the 'order of the day'.
