Help finding article- backdrop flat lighting
Posted by drgwcs on Saturday, December 26, 2020 8:19 PM

Within the past year, give or take a few months, MR had an article on lighting backdrop flats with a specialty LED that had kind of a flat panel. I have apparently misplaced that issue somewhere and can't find it for the life of me. What was the technical term for the LED and the source that was listed to get them at? Thanks for any help.

You have probably found your answer.  If not, or if someone else might be interested, I think you might be looking for an article called How To Illuminate Low-Relief Buildings by Mike Hardwick.  It is on page 43 of the September, 2019, MR.  The author used something called a LED backlight module.

The modules were used to light the interiors of N scale low-relief backdrop buildings.

I just checked that out.  There are other articles on lighting for night operations.

Mike.
