I made a slight change to my layout in which I needed a curved turnout. I use Atlas code 83 HO track. I needed the RH curved one and went searching. Found 1 on e-bay that was around $50.00 after S/H but kept looking fo a cheaper price. Found one on MB Klein, went to order it and they canceled because it wasn not in stock. Ordered one directly from Atlas, 2 days later they canceled. Could not find one. I was almost ready to pay the $50.00 when a pop up ad for "Midwest Model Railroad Hobby Shop" came up. Clicked on it and they had it in stock. Ordered it, they got my money and said it was shipped. My opinions on "pop-up" ads has slightly changed.

I have noticed almost everything I click on and look at on other sites, many times pop-up with ads exactly or relating to what I clicked on somewhere else not much longer after that.
Interesting stuff indeed from back in the day when the first black and white TVs came out with commercials to the way advertising is done today.
Who would have ever thought one day a commercial would come find you singled out from everyone else and tap on your shoulder

Lately all I have been seeing on this sight are advertisements for Women's snow boots.

Well, I'm pleased to say that I'm faring somewhat better, as the ads I'm seeing here are somewhat similar, although the word "snow" is not present, and what's mostly showing as pictures is the last word in the quote above, with the "t" now represented as a "b". Very heart-warming for sure!

Everyone wants privacy - so they disable the tracking cookies and stuff. Great, now when you do get ads, they have nothing to do with anything you've looked at or are interested in, you just get some generic ad stuck in the spot.
Or just block the ads, nothing more needs to be said. It's free. Works with all major browsers.
If I am in desperate need for something, and my usual go-tos don't have it in stock, I just use Google and find more sellers. But that's just me.

If you ever go to a page where you're getting bombarded by popups, videos, etc., there's an easy way to fix it (at least there's one on the Mac):
DISABLE javascript, then reload the page.
Safari makes this easy. You need to enable the "develop" menu (Safari/preferences/advanced). There's a menu command there, "disable javascript". Then type "command-R" to reload the page without javascript active.
This will knock out popups, scripts, videos, and other assorted garbage, leaving you with "just the basic text" to read.
I used the Keyboard preference pane to create a key command (command-J) to toggle javascript on/off. So if a page is giving me trouble, a quick command-J followed by command-R and now I control what I see on that page.
I imagine most browsers on the PC side have a way to quickly disable javascript as well. Give it a try, it makes otherwise-unreadable pages tame.

I totally agree! If you want to stop the pop-ups just install Ad Block or Ad Block Plus.
I have both installed (probably redundant) and I get zero pop-ups. Nada! Nothing....ever!!!
