I have been searching for HO scale Details West deck mounted EMD ditch lights #228 and the M. V. Products lenses to fit them. Are these companies still in business? Where do I find these parts (on eBay, the #228 ditch lights cost a fortune for the shipping)? Any help would be appreciated!
Details West is still around, I am not sure about MV Products.
According to this thread at Fine Scale Modeler's Forums, they are not being made any longer.

Question for Kalmback Media: With the new website improvements, will my Model Railroader login finally work at Fine Scale Modeler? I subscribe to both magazines.
Have you contacted Spring Creek Models in Nebraska? They do a lot of mail order. When I was in their store, they had a lot of detail parts.
Ebay prices for detail items have nothing to do with the actual retail price. The seller needs to make his markup, plus overcome all of the ebay fees on a small item. This drives the price way up.
I would love to know of a good mail order source for lots of detail parts. When I needed 20 packs of Details West TOFC Bridge Plates, I had to order from a lot of different places to get them all.

According to the Walthers website they are expecting a shipment this month. You might call them and ask if that is real: https://www.walthers.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=details+west+228
No word on MV Lenses? I do hope that MV is still in business.
I like using their lenses for brake / tail lights on HO scale buses and trucks. The lenses improves a vehicle's appearance quite nicely, imho. Here is one of my MV Lens equipped Busch Fishbowl buses that originally had (ugh!) painted tail lights.

Thank you! I guess that I will have to set foot in Hobby Lobby with my wife, to check into these!
