Good Afternoon!

When I came into this place a few moments ago, I thought my Internet connection had gone astray and routed me to a housekeeping forum [(-D]

As I am the one in charge of doing the dishes, allow me to add my [2c] worth to the issue.

We mainly use our dishwasher, but before stacking the dishes, cutlery and pots into it, I give them a quick rinse with hot water to clean any food stuff from them. This allows us to run the short cycle which, despite the use of hot water, means a big saving on our energy bill. It also adds to the service life of the dishwasher. Aside from breakfast, which is usually just muesli and coffee, we like to "celebrate" our meals, so that means a lot of dishes. I´d hate to do them by hand - pansd and big pots are all I do by hand.

Enough of this greasy topic, back to model railroading [:-^]

I am making slow progress on landscaping my layout. I have decided against giving the layout a winter atmosphere as I have so much landscaping stuff left over from previous projects which I´d like to use up. Money is tight and will even get tighter as we have to face big cuts in our allowance. We will have to sell the car, get rid of any "nice to have" spending and pare down to the absolute minimum to survive on what we will have left. Not really a nice perspective! Now, if I were a Syrian refugee - but stop, this is getting into politics and I better stay out of it, as I see Vinnie has risen from his comfy chair in the back.

I have been doing some more w*rk on the layout today, mainly on the rock faces.

It´s starting to get where I want to be, but it is still a long way. I should paint the bridge and the chapel - that will make a whole lot of difference to the appearance!

I am enjoying this layout and its construction very much - as long as it lasts. I will have to sell it eventually [:'(]
