Hello to the Moderators.
Please delete this thread after you read it as you'll likely get to work on the issue.
Forgive me as this is the only way I can send a message to you. I've tried using the PM feature but it is not working. I don't know if this is happening with fellow forum members.
When I tried to responed to a PM recently and also tried to start a conversation, the boxes remain blank as I repeatedly refreshed the page and retyped. I checked my computer and software and things seem to be working normally on my end.
I'm assuming it's likely a software glitch that can be cleared up soon.

Very likely you are using Firefox in a version later than 61. This is a known bug that everyone concerned blames someone else for causing and apparently expects someone else to fix.
I know for a fact that running the Opera browser permits easy access to PM composition and reading. I believe others have noted that Chrome works, but I wouldn't touch that browser by choice even if it ran effectively on my older Mac systems.
PMs also notoriously don't work on many, perhaps all, phones. This too is a known bug with no cost-effective solution yet.
Expect the problems to be addressed in stage 3 of the 'new trains.com experience' promised for the forums sometime in spring 2021.
Overmod is correct! PM hasn’t worked in Firefox for what seems like years. I’ve had to switch over to Chrome to send PMs for a long time.Mel My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.
Yeah, same issue here. I use Safari on my Mac for PMs. Hoping the new software resolves this when it arrives next year.

Antonio,
IIRC, this has been an issue here on the MR forum since Firefox 67.0. The easy workaround is to use a compatible browser like Chrome or Edge (replacement for Internet Explorer) for creating or responding to PMs. For whatever reason there are no problems using Firefox to post on the forum.
Hopefully this - as well as all the other annoying and longstanding issues with the forum software over the years - will get resolved when the forum software is upgraded next year. Steve Otte posted that this is scheduled to take place in "Spring '21". However, I would take that with a grain of salt.
