Here in Albany we have inherited some Bendy Buses that run on some of the major routes. Bendy buses have been around perhaps since the 1940, "Queen Marys" because of there large size and Chicago have been using them for years.

Frank,
That's probably on the modern side for something that been around "since the 1940s," but the wording is somewhat ambiguous about him wanting more modern successors. The Iconic Models bus seems to be going fast, MB Klein had a good selection of transit co. names available but they're down to just two choices now. Get 'em while you can.
The short run thing I missed out on and am hoping for more are the Trainworx HO ribbed side trailers with and w/o reefer units. I got a nice drop-frame C&EI van , but want some of the City Market, etc.

The New Flyer bus that ZStripe linked to is probably quite similar to the one you are looking for. Both New Flyer and NABI make articulated buses, and Gillig might make them also now (I am not sure).
Anyhow, It is doubtful anyone viewing your layout could tell a New Flyer from a NABI anyway.
It is a beautiful model.

Maybe not in this town. Our local transit (buses only), the Metropolitan Transit District (MTD), has an employee model railroad club with it's own layout room at MTD HQ. I'd almost bet some of them would know the difference.
mlehmanI'd almost bet some of them would know the difference.
I'll bet they all would!
There's a selection of articulated buses all the way down to 1:400 -- nearly T-gauge scale! -- on Shapeways, although at the price for some of them you'd be making Mel castings for even a fairly small fleet...
Presumably any file made for 1:220 or N could be printed in a larger size on request.
This company carries a lot of what the OP may be ooking for. Here's the link to the Rietze line of vehicles which has some of the articulated buses.
