DCC & Lightbulbs
Posted by DigitalGriffin on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 3:27 PM
I'm about to install a Soundtraxx DSD-LL080LC into my LL-P2K.

Word is that I need to swap out the light bulb to something that can handle the higher voltages. Does anybody have an idea where I can pick these up?

You might want to try :http://www.loystoys.com/ . I have purchased 14v grain of wheat bulbs from them for my P2K 0-6-0s. They can advise you on what you need.

You want 14 volt bulbs. Most Hobby stores carry.

You actually have an option of either changing the bulbs or putting resistors in the lines to the bulbs. If your P2K has a mars light, there is also an option of either reaplacing the bulb or wiring both filaments together through a resistor.
