Best Model Train Layout Website Galleries
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 10, 2005 3:42 PM
I always seem to spend a lot of time looking at pictures of other people's layouts on the internet.

It's always fun to see what other people have come up with, and always helps me with new ideas.

Feel free to post some of your favourtie model train gallery websites here, all scales.

Thanks, I look forward to them!

Hey there. My favorite site to view other peoples layout is definitely

www.railimages.com

To be honest it is the best one out there. The best. It is so simple to navigate through their site. All the other ones I see like Webshots have so many advertisements all over so you have a problem finding the right button to click. Railimages is a dedicated site to all Trains in all scales. No One can recommend a better site, bottom line.

It's not a gallery as such, just my website dedicated to my BRVRR. Pictures of the layout, rolling stock, op sessions, engines etc. The link is in my signature.

mac,
Thanks for the kind words. Yes the grandson loves it here. Sometimes he thinks its HIS layout. Imagine that. He was my best excuse for getting back into the hobby though.
Thanks for visiting the site.

Thanks a lot guys, all of you, the websites and links are great. Allan have you put the layout in your will for said grandson? Just make sure he works on some of it, "earns it" ya know. Glad that he enjoys it, glad you do too, you big kid.

Have a great morning all when you get up.

Hi, macguy

You can click on my web button below to see my layout. Another good place to go is the NMRA site at http://www.cwrr.com/nmra/

That one will keep you busy for a few days!

It is quite a place to visit. Much of the scenery is complete now, so it is more impressive than the we site suggests. The layout is open to the public on the first Sunday afternoon of each month and Ken is quite happy to put a Digitrax throttle into the hand of any visitor so that they can run around the layout. It takes several minutes to get all the round and there are often a dozen or so trains in action at any one time. He has also build a double track DC layout all around the room so that non DCC locos can get a spin. The first time you visit, it just takes your breath away when you realize the magniture of the place. Well worth a visit if you are in the St. Louis area.

Nice, Steve, very nice.

My site can be reached through the link in my signature. If you have been to my site before, you might want to check it out again because I've overhauled it recently and there's more how-to construction tips on it.

Tim,
Right now Zachary is more interested in running the trains than he is in building a layout. He does try to help when I am doing something that he can do. Painting etc.
He has a small DC layout at home that he putters with. Tries ideas on and tries to mimic the things I do on the BRVRR. Problem is, his layout has to be folded out of the way on occasion. Everything on the table top has to be portable.

Don't overlook the NMRA Webmaster's Choice archive which is accessible from the NMRA home page at: http://www.nmra.org/

There are links to dozens of good layouts there.
