Hi guys, does anyone else have this issue, where the shell is very loosely attached to the chassis and can easily come off if picked up? Does anyone have any solutions to this?
For those who don't have one, the shell is snapped onto the metal chassis via 4 locations, a pair on the front and a pair towards the rear of the engine. However, the sides of the shell loves to stretch and when it does, shell just comes off.

Yes, I have several. My Athearn Trainmaster is the worst.
I have just disciplined myself to always reach over the body shell and pick up all my models by the fuel tank.
Sorry, I know that is a poor solution.

I don't if there's much you can do, except be careful, as Kevin points out.
I have Kato dash 9's and SD45's and you have to remove the couplers first to remove the shell. It says the same in the instructions for the F40PH.

I don't know just how much they help in holding on the body shell. It's been awhile since I've had to open one up.
