wjstix SeeYou190 Is Trains Of Thought really the April Fools joke? I have a hard time with that. Tony Koester has never been noted for a sense of humor that I can recall. IIRC wasn't the April Fool's joke a couple years ago Tony writing a column saying he'd given up on HO, and was going to rebuild his Nickel Plate Road as a hi-rail (1:48 scale, O gauge using three-rail track) layout? Anyway, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't find the joke - if there is one? BTW since there were comments in this thread about (mis)pronouncing "Kato"...note that Marklin is correctly pronounced "Mare-clean"; not like the names "Mark" and "Lynn" stuck together. Speaking of O gauge, do you say "Line-ull" or "Lye-a-nell"??

Come on now, everyone knows it is "lion-ell"..........
SBCAI think I'm going to have to go out on a limb and say there is no April Fool's joke this year... Wouldn't be that shocking - every December was traditionally a Christmas-related issue, which has also disappeared...

Apparently, traditions have no value in our today´s society. Only the so-called political correctness rules!
Spare me to voice what I think about that!
Happy times!

Yet at the same time, they've been recreating classic old cover photos with the current staff - the latest one has Cody and (is that his actual son?) working on a kit.

Hi Mike,
It's true. There is no April Fool's in the magazine this year. We decided to take a break and come up with something new for next year. Stay tuned.
Have a good day,
Dana

Well, at least I got my money's worth out of the issue. I read it cover-to-cover about 300 times.

Oh, well. It gave us something to talk about.
Surprising- but if that NMRA museum takes another year- I'm counting that.....
