Brace yourselves.

.

I really hope when the forum gets an upgrade that there will be a minimum word requirtement for replies, 15-20 is common, to prevent these cryptic posts that have no real content.

.

Interesting thing about the video... I have been mispronouncing "Kato" for 30+ years. I always assumed it was "Kay-Toe", but apparently not.

.

The NORFOLK AND SOUTHERN layout looks truly amazing.

There was an article many years ago in MR (in the 80's I think) where they visited with the younger Mr. Kato who was at the time just setting up Kato USA under the direction of his father. It was in that article that they mentioned the correct pronounciation of the name. Not sure how it was pronounced on the original Green Hornet radio serials, but on the 60's TV show with Bruce Lee, it was "kay-toe" which probbaly influenced many on how to pronounce the name of the model train company.

.

It is also "Kay-Toe" in the Green Hornet, Pink Panther, and the OJ Simpson Trial.

.

I wonder how many others are always mispronounced. There was an importer of brass models named "Akane", that I have heard pronounced every way you can imagine.

Why so early?  Isn't this still the middle of February?

Pretty much last week of the month, typically when they ship out the next issue.

Years ago, Gary Hoover's beautiful AT&SF layout was featured several times in MR. I look forward to seeing his take on the N&W.

These threads usually get locked right away.  I agree with Mike, those preview of this layout looked exceptional.

TheK4Kid,  does it say anywhere in these forums that this is the place to go for customer service ?

Just remember the (unwritten) ground rule: no discussing or giving away the "April Fool's Joke" until a decent interval has passed, so that those who buy on a newstand don't feel like second class citizens.

I usually get my copy AFTER it shows up at my LHS. What does that make me?

I think Dave is just making a tongue-in-cheek thing about how some forum members get a bit upset when the secret is let out too soon.

To John-NYBW, A good person. You are supporting your LHS, you probably buy more stuff when you are there and you pay more money per copy for the MR magazine then other people that have subcriptions. It's a win win for both business's.

I just picked up the April 2020 issue at my LHS.

I have my first thought, I stop there. I hope I'm wrong.

Brace yourself because black is white and up is down: the cover date isn't the month of publication, it is the date retailers are supposed to pull that issue and return them to the publisher or destroy them.

If you are thinking of the numbering one, I believe it was just a mistake, as there was a better candidate in the issue...

I know which one you mean. I was thinking, this can't be real. Then I went to the URL - hmm, either someone went to WAY too much effort, or it really is a legit product.

Mine came on the 28th, early for me, and I flipped through it and I am not seeing it, or them?  Taking my time to read it, maybe I'll get it.
